Bulls Head Bob Jan 2023. Bob Dylan. Mysterious Blues Band?? Your chance to own a 1963 Original Fender Stratocaster!!!

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hello you Guys n' Gals and welcome to 2023 and the start of the New Year that is definitely ready for change.  We had a bostin' Christmas although this year we kept to a tight budget owing to the rising energy costs, so expensive guitars have to take a back seat for a while.   However this month I feature an original 1963 Fender Stratocaster, Fiesta Red over Sunburst, that could be yours but first......

BOB DYLAN

You may recall I gave Mr Dylan a literary spanking for having his limited edition "signed" book, retailing at 599 Dollars, actually signed by a machine.  He gave a poor excuse pertaining to vertigo and the publishers gave an even weaker excuse that was an insult to the book buying, music loving public.  I can't see how physically signing a book can give you vertigo unless you are stood on top of the 900 copies that were designated as the 'special edition', he could have signed a few at a time?

All that aside, Mrs Bob kindly bought me an unsigned copy for £35 as one of my Christmas gifts and I love it!   I admire Dylans music history knowledge along with his own prodigious output.  I love books and this book is a cracker. Incredibly informative as he comments on some significant songs that he's known or weaves word pictures of song characters.  Great humour too.

Strongly recommended.

MYSTERIOUS BLUES BAND.

It's a good thing for musicians of different ages to play together, indeed, the members of my own boogie band are from different generations and work together brilliantly.   My old blog friend, drummer Tom Lane whose music history harks back to the Brummie bands of the 60's has been trying for the past few years to 'retire' himself from playing with bands and especially as drummers have to lug all that kit around but always finds himself in demand.    There's a saying "Use it or Lose it" which certainly pertains to musicians and I'm really pleased that he hasn't chosen to sit back and simply reminisce about the good old days.

Tom has been recruited into a group calling themselves the Mysterious Blues Band playing at Midlands venues.  Its a trio format of Drums Bass and Guitar where its necessary to have a solid drummer keeping the vibe tight.   There are some awesome young players about who shine in that environment.

I've got a couple of gig dates for the band so if you have the inclination to hear some solid blues then get yourself along to see them.   Tom is a lovely guy so go and have a chat with him, he has a good history.

8 Jan 23.    The Crew, Nuneaton starting at 1945.

28 Jan 23,   Ryan's Bar, Derby town centre starting 2100.

Good luck you guys, keeping music live!!!

1963 ORIGINAL FENDER STRATOCASTER.  COULD BE YOURS.

Us guitarists yearn to have a special guitar, something that we've always wanted.   The guitarists of the early 60's certainly wanted a Fiesta Red Fender Stratocaster to be like their hero, the wonderful Hank Marvin, followed by a couple of years when Gibson had completely dominated the guitar market with the humbucking Les Paul in the hands of Eric Clapton,  Clapton then started using a Strat after hearing Steve Winwood play one on songs like Keep on Running with the use of a fuzz tone, and a little later of course, the arrival to the British shores of Jimi Hendrix with his Stratocaster antics once again made the Strat the guitar to own.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

Right now, I know someone who is about to put his Original 1963 Stratocaster, Fiesta Red over Sunburst, up for sale.  It  won't be cheap for sure but there's not many about are there?

It comes with it's original case and history.   Here are a couple of fotos to make you drool and should you wish to pursue your dreams of having a guitar that has more Spank than a pricey dominatrix feel free to drop me an Email at Bobsbullocks@Gmail.com and I will gladly put you in touch with the seller.

The seller has many, many more photos and information about this piece of music history which he will be more than happy to share with you should you wish to buy it.

This could be your dream come true and my friends, the prices will only go upwards so is a great investment!!!  Good luck.

Finally

Back in the 60's my everyday language was spattered with words like "groovy, cosmic" and "far out", and every sentence would end in "Man".   I spent some time with my 14 Year old grandson recently and was really glad to hear he was "Styling his Drip" and not having a clue what he was saying?

The wheels go round my friends!   Translation: accessorising his outfit.

I wish you all a happy new year and live in the hope that peace will soon come to this troubled world.   I always have.

Bob
